Comtech is hiring for enthusiastic and skilled SATCOM Technicians, Level III to be part of our 24x7 Tier II Operations & Maintenance Team to deliver quality services to our customers. The SATCOM Technician, operates and maintains the triband satellite terminals and associated baseband systems per DSCS, STEP, Teleport and RHN policies and procedures. The SATCOM Technician configures the satellite communications equipment based on mission requirements and parameters set forth in support of US DoD Tactical/Deployed customers. Qualifying candidates will be responsible for the configuration and operational actions necessary to extend secure Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) data and voice services.

?Establish Teleport and RHN SATCOM services IAW TSOs, ASAs, GAAs, SAAs, COMSEC Callouts, Network Diagrams, Firewall Change Requests (FCR), Requests for Change (RFC), and any other documentation from the planning community.
?Respond to and assist the Government in interpreting Army Service Authorizations (ASAs), Satellite Access Authorizations (SAAs), Commercial Satellite Service Request (CSSRs), Operational Database Memorandums (ODM), Telecommunications Service Order (TSOs), Satellite Bandwidth Task Orders (TOs) and other documents authorizing use of satellite and DISN services.
?Experience to provide troubleshooting assistance in concert with remote terminal operators and to accomplish Tier II support requirements of all Teleport and RHN systems and equipment.
?Operate and Maintain Digital Communications Satellite Subsystem
?Use Strong analytical skills with the ability to examine system configurations for proper or improper configuration
?Configure satellite systems equipment to specifications by referring to mission configuration parameters; analyzing requirements while performing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
?Configure, prepare, activate and test satellite systems per service requests 24hrs prior to start of any mission
?Evaluate system performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency via the use of spectrum monitors and other testing equipment
?Correct deterioration or failure of any systems, equipment, links, trunks or circuits that are causing degradation or loss of telecommunications service to the users
?Monitor systems performance by observing monitoring and analysis tools, and perform tuning; troubleshooting of communication equipment problems;
?Inputting data into Master Station Log during dynamic mission loads
?Ensure customer satisfaction through the resolution of all issues and problems reported

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of specialized experience, or an associate's degree plus 7 years of specialized experience, or a major certification plus 7 years of specialized experience, or 11 years of specialized experience


US Military Radio Frequency (RF) SATCOM Operator and Maintainer or Commercial SATCOM Operator and maintainer (equivalent).
?Operation of Encryption/COMSEC Devices
?Electromagnetic transmission principles
?Operation of TMDE (i.e., Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Fireberd)
?Experience with WIN-T tactical systems
?Experience with Non WIN-T Military satellite operations and communications systems

The following experience is a plus:
?Five (5) years experience maintaining and developing RF Networks and their components (MF-TDMA, TDMA, FDMA);
?Three (3) years must be in direct experience with U.S. military command and control or commercial SATCOM systems

Security Clearance:
Current U.S. SECRET clearance required (IT-I).
