Ground Systems Engineer (Job Number:431592)


Job Description:

Serves as Ground Systems Engineer within the NRO SIGINT Directorate LEO Systems Program Office (LSPO). Individual must be familiar with satellite ground segment acquisitions, O&M of those Systems, and operational ground stations. The LSPO ground segment consists of ground command and control (C2) and mission management Software as well as the supporting hardware and networks. The individual will develop and manage Systems ICDs and support definition of, integration with, and migration to NRO Enterprise initiatives such as NISP and NASP.

Key duties/responsibilities:

Develop and manage system inter-segment ICDs

Coordinate and support definition of, integration with, and migration to NRO Enterprise Initiatives to include NISP and NASP

Ensure development needs are accurately captured and documented in requirements and CONOPs. Track and evaluate allocation of requirements to subsystems and units

Coordinate with other acquisition offices to ensure end-to-end acquisitions reflect sound Systems engineering practices

Travel within the US 1-2 times per month for up to 5 days per trip

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

Required Qualifications:

BS in a technical field (engineering, mathematics, computer science) with 9+ years of relevant experience

5 + years experience with NRO ground Systems

Experience with NRO organization structure and Systems engineering business processes

Clearance Requirement:

TS/SCI with Polygraph
