Revenue Manager - Military veterans preferred

Summary/Objective

Revenue Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the closing process; monthly, quarterly and annually ensuring timeliness and accuracy.



Essential Functions

� Evaluate contracts for complex accounting issues including revenue recognition and the proper accounting for those transactions.
� Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
� Revenue variance analysis
� Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
� Comply with SOX and internal control policies
� Prepare and advise on the timely and accurate documentation of accounting for significant and non-routine accounting transactions and events.
� Research accounting guidance to recommend revenue recognition policies
� Review Balance sheet account reconciliations
� Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
� Supervision of assigned staff and roles including ownership of multiple controls
� Interface with management in various departments, including sales, operations, vendor relations, IT, and legal as necessary
� Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
� Balance sheet and P & L fluctuation Analysis
� Work with finance and accounting teams to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress
� Support with special projects and workflow process improvements including identifying and implementing automation where applicable
� Review contracts for accounting treatment and implement necessary processes to comply with contracts
� Apply GTN accounting principles to revenue transactions

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA required.
ASC 606 Experience
Strong technical accounting background.
At least five years general ledger accounting experience is required
Understanding and experience with SOX compliance, auditing and required reporting
Experience in a public company with a control environment highly desired.
3-4 years of prior public accounting experience preferred
Strong Excel experience
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)

This position has direct reports



Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and scanners



Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.



Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during day shift hours. Some extended hours or weekends may be required based on business needs.



Travel

This position will require travel to the various locations within the organizational structure, to trainings and meetings, etc.
