The Configuration Management analyst will be assigned to a specific aircraft program and will be responsible for oversight of the change management process and the systematic review and release of engineering product definition data and documents. He/she will report to the Configuration Management Lead for program specific tasks and compliance to CM processes and procedures.
Specific areas of responsibility/oversight include:
Work with design personnel to provide task specific guidance in the areas of Bill of Material (BOM) development, product definition documentation selection/use and configuration change control.
Support supplier change control and document vaulting activities.
Co-chair/manage Configuration Control Boards.
Participate in technical review of proposed design changes and provide feedback to design and system engineering personnel.
Review engineering documentation to ensure compliance with company procedures and customer SOW requirements for documentation and change control.
Monitor/perform BOM effectivity transactions to ensure accuracy of BOM requirements.
Perform configuration status accounting by maintaining computer mainframe and PC based databases for document status.
Work closely with program and engineering management to provide full visibility of work in process and released data
Develop and maintain CM plans, processes, procedures, program directions / instructions, and contract data deliverable items
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience
Experience with DOD and industry standards for configuration management. Experience in hardware configuration management, including creation, control and revision of Bill of Material structure and working with model and serial number data. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Requires good PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel. The ability to accommodate changing priorities on a daily basis is a must. Strong communication skills required. General familiarity with aircraft and/or helicopter systems. Must be able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment and clearly communicate requirements to design, manufacturing and management personnel.
