Operations touches all of SSC s programs and products managing our supply chain; producing, assembling, testing and transporting mission critical hardware; ensuring safety, quality and security; integrating enterprise plans; maintaining and improving our facilities; while ensuring program performance. -Facility architectural intern with a desire to plan and designs office construction, manufacturing & lab space, as well as provide maintenance coordination and alteration of facility equipment and associated machinery, buildings, and structures.
-Gathers and reviews facility data concerning equipment and specifications, company standards or government restrictions, project schedule durations, and construction feasibility.
-Prepares bid sheets and contracts for facility construction and acquisitions.
-Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials preparation, and other related costs.
-Participates in inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
-Works closely with in-house architectural/engineering design staff as well as outside consultants and directs in-house technical or maintenance staff.

Basic Qualifications
-Working toward BS Degree in Architecture.
-Concentration of discipline in design work at an architecture / engineering firm.

Desired skills
-Proficient in design work and cognizant of construction estimating, building codes and architectural systems including codes associated to the following: building classification, occupancy category, ingress/egress requirements, ADA compliance, roofing systems, flooring systems and interior finishes, etc.
-Use of AutoCad 2014 or compatible.
-Shown as self starter and motivated with excellent interpersonal customer skills, project status communication, time management, and organizational teambuilding as strength.
-Knowledge of LEED-AP and/or LEED-NC CEM desired.
-Proficient in all MS Office products.
-Could possess Architectural & Engineering firm internship experience at other company.
