Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Maintains and operates varied makes of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electronic and pneumatic control systems.
- Repairs hot water, chill water, and steam systems to include boilers, chillers, pumps, motors, valves and other auxiliary equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Utilizes test equipment to include volt/amp/ohms meter, temperature pressure gauges for refrigerant systems and others.
- Utilizes appropriate hand and power tools for repair and installation of equipment.
- Uses University vehicle to travel between work sites.
- Moves items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Climbs ladders to access work areas.
- Works in closed areas of extreme hot or cold temperatures.
- Distinguishes color coded wiring.
- Reads blueprints and schematics to determine location, size, capacity and types of components needed to repair equipment and/or systems.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
