Join our mission-driven team as a NIBRS QA Engineer and help ensure the accuracy and compliance of cutting-edge public safety software used by law enforcement agencies across the U.S. We're looking for expert quality assurance professionals with a deep understanding of software engineering and hands-on experience with NIBRS reporting. This is a fully remote position for U.S.-based candidates who want to make an impact in public safety technology.

The role will focus on ensuring our public safety software systems' reliability, accuracy, and compliance-specifically for NIBRS (National Incident-Based Reporting System) compliance. We want to hear from you if you have a passion for public safety, a strong QA background, and a deep knowledge of NIBRS standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases focused on NIBRS validation.
  • Analyze system requirements and map them to NIBRS data elements and rules.
  • Validate incident report data for NIBRS compliance using FBI and State standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, implementation, and support , to deliver high-quality software.
  • Document, track, and prioritize defects and issues.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and agency readiness.
  • Stay current on updates to NIBRS specifications and validation logic.


Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years in software QA or software engineering.
  • 2+ years of direct experience with NIBRS reporting standards.
  • Strong understanding of QA tools and processes.
  • Proficiency in analyzing XML and structured data formats.
  • Ability to write and run SQL queries for backend data validation.
  • Familiarity with test case management and defect-tracking tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • U.S. residency and ability to pass a criminal background check.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with RMS software in the public safety sector.
  • Exposure to automation tools like Selenium or Postman.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
