We are seeking a Production Foreman to join our hard working and fast-paced team. The Production Foreman will assist in a variety of positions or tasks with the production of a variety of bread products. All work will be performed in accordance with SQF Food Safety procedures. Job tasks may change from day to day depending upon production needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for directing, coordinating department activities on the shift to guarantee the production of quality products in a clean, safe manner within established operating standards and planned schedules.
  • Ensures set up of equipment to ensure proper start-up and continuous operation.
  • Monitors products during production cycle for proper slicing, packaging and coding to established standards.
  • Works with engineering department with equipment adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality and on-time production schedule.
  • Confirms adequate supply of packaging supplies for a smooth and efficient production run.
  • Trains employees to perform to standard on each job within the department, including Safety, Quality, Cost and Service. Explains and fairly enforces company policy and procedures to employees.
  • Responds to problems and seeks resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for seeking understanding of communications by clearly expressing facts and asking follow-up questions.

Safety Responsibility:

  • Use proper LOTO process when required while performing operator or clean up duties.
  • Follow plant safety rules and procedures.
  • Encourage safe work techniques for all employees (mentor/coach).
  • Perform all duties safely and to use discretion to prevent injuries.
  • Complete annual safety refresher training requirements.
Job Requirements:
  • Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in leading a team of people in a production environment.
  • High School graduate is the minimum educational requirement.
  • Must have Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
  • Bakery experience preferred.
  • Additional technical training including seminar training conducted by trade associations, allied groups, safety training in Hazardous Material, Right To Know and Lock-Out/Tag-Out programs, or college credits are a plus.
  • Bilingual is a plus
