Position Title: MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST--UROLOGY

description:
1. Schedules and relays information to patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, and consultations.
2. Obtains procedural pre-certifications, medication pre-authorizations, referrals as required by patients' health care insurers.
3. Informs patients of costs of care being provided, and guides them to appropriate resources for further information, guidance, or assistance.
4. May assist in patient and family education by providing educational material and general health information to patients and family members.
5. Answers telephone, screens callers, relays messages, and at times may room patients if necessary.
6. Maintains calendar and schedules return appointments.
7. Electronic access to e-mail, E.H.R., calendars, and other basic office support software.
8. Uses automated systems to access, enter, and edit patient information.
9. Other duties as assigned/necessary
AS EXPECTED WITH ALL HEALTHCARE POSITIONS, MUST ADHERE TO HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN REGULATIONS AND MAINTAIN ASSOCIATED WORKPLACE TRAININGS
High School or Equivalent or better.
Some college or better.
Technical/other training or better.
