Overview

It's a great time to join us at Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC)! ARC accelerates the growth of global air travel by delivering forward-looking travel data, flexible distribution services and other innovative industry solutions. We are a leading travel intelligence company with the world’s largest, most comprehensive global airline ticket dataset, including more than 15 billion passenger flights. By working here, you can contribute to solutions and expertise that strengthen economies and enrich lives. We think big, embrace challenges and explore new ideas to lead the way for the travel industry.

ARC is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! This role supports the Settlement Operations and Accounting Team with accounting duties that reside in Cash Management, Accounts Receivables, and Accounts Payable functions. The work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. The position must respond well to tight deadlines, effectively multi-task and take ownership of assignments. Additionally, this role provides data for both weekly and monthly billing, collecting unpaid airline shortages and fees and collaborating with internal and external customers to resolve complex settlement-related inquiries. This role handles reconciling and submitting airline and agent bank files, calculating and entering accounting transactions and providing supporting documentation.

Responsibilities

  1. Balance and process travel agency and Airline settlements exceeding +150M per week, ensuring adjustments like bank account changes, submitting the debit and credit ACH files to the bank for processing while maintaining internal controls. 3. Review and adjust customer accounts, process overpayments, initiate fund requests and manage receivables and payables in dual accounting systems. Prepare and submit manual transaction reports, including airline shortages, fees, cash reserve adjustments, and uncollected amounts.
  4. Respond to inquiries, assist with airline training, and provide guidance to internal and external customers.
  5. Support financial and operational audits and maintain the Weekly Transaction Report showing comparisons against budget and forecast to generate billing files for accounting.
  6. Update procedural manuals, assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning, and contribute to modernization efforts while handling ad hoc tasks as needed.
