Position Summary

Forklift operator performs all operations including loading, inbound, picking, put away, consolidation, flipping and slip sheeting. Complete daily reports to support the operations and inventory accuracy. Uphold all safety rules and company policies to meet safe, quality food requirements. Perform inventory counts, material handling, and cleaning as needed. To ensure the safety and quality of the products that the line produces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability to perform the following duties.

  • Transports supplies and products throughout the day as needed.
  • Transports finished wrapped pallets to warehouse area and stacks these in appropriate section.
  • Throughout the day, as needed, transports bins and disposes trash contained in them. Brings empty bins inside.
  • At times pours barrels full of soup packets into trays for soup dispensing positions.
  • Transports empty raw material pallets to the outside for owner’s pick up.
  • Transports ingredients and supplies these to mixer position as required by the day’s production schedule.
  • Throughout the day supplies and required ingredients to various work position as they are requested.
  • Throughout the day and in particular at the end of the day’s production weighs, records, and disposes of discarded materials in assigned proper trash bin or container.
  • As required, inspects forklift gauges, water and oil levels, light and horn operation, and amount of fuel for continued operation.
  • Verifies that date code on product cases is correct. Advises of any corrections required.
  • Moves around materials in the warehouses to provide space for in-coming materials. 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • 1+ years of recent forklift operating experience. 
  • Forklift certification. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. 
  • Basic math skills.
