Description: The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in industrial buildings. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of plumbing codes, materials, and best practices to ensure efficient and reliable systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in industrial buildings
- Fabricate and install plumbing systems including but not limited to:
- Copper, PVC/CPVC, and steel piping systems
- In wall rough ins
- Buried piping
- Set fixtures and final trim
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues accurately and efficiently
- Interpret and apply plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices
- Collaborate with contractors and other trades to ensure seamless project completion
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of plumbing systems
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Provide excellent customer service and address client concerns promptly
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:- Ability to operate excavating equipment as well as shooting grade accurately preferred
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions
Education/Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a plumber with at least 3 years as a Journeyman
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, plumbing codes, and safety regulations
- Extensive underground knowledge and experience
- Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
Travel Requirements:- Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwide
- Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and events
Physical Requirements:- Ability to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive movements
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds
- Adequate vision to perform all required tasks
- Work on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops
- Comfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safely
- Strong sense of balance and spatial awareness
- Work in underground trenches, high elevations as well as confined spaces, if required
