Systems Administrator, Senior (Unix/ Linux) - Military veterans preferred

Description: RMC is hiring for a Senior Unix/Linux Systems Administrator to support a Department of the Navy (DoN) customer in Dahlgren, VA. Position is contingent of successful award of contract. RMC is hiring for a Senior Unix/Linux Systems Administrator who will provide support to an RDT&E environment. The selected applicant will manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of windows workstations and servers and perform hardware and software installations.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $190,000

Requirements:

• Six (6) years of professional experience in Unix and/or Linux system administration of networks and software systems

• Experience in system backup and recovery; basic software management; security management and library management; installation and configuration of hardware; operational systems and COTS software; operating computer systems in different operating environments; and sizing, performance, tuning, hardware/software/network trouble shooting and resource allocation.
• Qualified experience in different network protocols including TCP/IP and major network security tools such as: firewalls, knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attach methods and latest detection methods
• T5/T5R investigation
• One of the following IT certifications: CASP+, CCNP Security, or CCSP
