ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Development Coordinator works closely with business development managers across the firm’s Industries + Issues groups (including Artificial Intelligence, ESG + Sustainability, Fintech, Food + Ag, Government Strategies, Interactive + Digital Media, Life Sciences + Healthcare, Semiconductors, Technology) to coordinate and execute on business development projects, materials, and event support.

Business Development Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with business development managers, providing responsive, effective assistance in executing on business development requests, projects, and initiatives. Develop understanding of relevant industry and practice groups and preferences of partners within each practice and group. Make recommendations for process improvements, taking full ownership over assignments.
  • Edit, update, and maintain marketing materials, including overview descriptions, attorney biographies, and content for the website. Assist with tracking matters in experience database and creating descriptions and tombstones for pitches and marketing collateral. Draft new collateral as requested.
  • Assist in preparing pitches and RFPs, including research, coordinating collateral, and assembling materials. Coordinate closely with Marketing Pitch Hub to ensure end result is accurate and thoroughly prepared. Assist in tracking results and preparing responsive reports and analyses incorporating recommendations for increasing effectiveness.
  • Create dynamic PowerPoint presentations for partner pitches and internal communications.
  • Provide requested research using firm and online tools to develop intelligence on prospective targets, industries, markets, etc.
  • Participate in the production and presentation of client development seminars. Coordinate details, logistics, processes, communications, arrangements, etc. through all stages of development and implementation as needed. Assist with the follow-up for all client events and seminars to ensure business development opportunities and drive potential ROI.
  • Coordinate with Marketing Creative Services in applying brand standards, using firm templates, preparing files for print productions, and performing press checks.
  • Participate in completing timely awards and submissions to directories and ranking authorities in coordination with awards and ranking team members.
  • Participate in keeping Salesforce database current (pitch, RFP tracking and contacts for mailing lists) for assigned industry groups.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or related field. Three years of relevant
  • experience in professional services marketing; law firm experience preferred.
  • High degree of motivation, with driving sense of responsibility, accountability, and responsiveness.
  • Excellent writing skills. Ability to prepare focused and specialized written materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills in all areas, including writing, copy editing, researching, and managing data.
  • Understanding of best practices for events (in-person and virtual) from planning, logistics, implementation, and proactive follow-up.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines. Ability to follow essential instructions.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work hours needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

San Francisco, Palo Alto salary range: $63k to $88k

Los Angeles, San Diego salary range: $60k to $84k
