Bilingual Student Worker, Social Needs Screener

Overview

Social factors profoundly impact health. The student worker position will support Medicaid members in Eastern Oregon by screening members for social needs (housing, food, utilities etc.) and providing resource lists as well as navigation support to needed social needs resources. The position may provide additional administrative support to other projects as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Contacting patients, in both English and Spanish, to screen for social needs and providing social needs resources and referrals to high-risk patients
  • Data entry of patient screens into the Unite Us platform
  • Data cleaning and basic analysis
  • Other duties as assigned (e.g. supporting meetings and technical assistant offerings)


Responsibilities

  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program  (minimum 6 credit hours)
  • High-level computer knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, with ability to create spreadsheets, data entry forms, queries and report, and experience with PowerPoint presentations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish


Qualifications



  • 1 year in research data collection, including handling protected health information.
