Alfred State College is excited to take over the management of the Collegiate Restaurant, a beloved, long-standing establishment in the heart of a vibrant college town. Operating for over 100 years, the Collegiate Restaurant is not just a dining destination, it's a college staple known for its nostalgic diner experience, welcoming atmosphere, and strong community ties.
With this transition, the restaurant will also serve as a learning lab for Alfred State students, providing hands-on experience in culinary arts, hospitality management, and business operations. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring both an exceptional customer experience and a valuable student learning environment, all while navigating the restaurant's integration into the structured state system.

Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field
Certification in food safety management

Work Environment
Work requires standing for long periods, operating near hot equipment (broilers, ovens), and occasional work at heights.
High-pressure environment requiring the ability to multitask and maintain efficiency under demanding conditions.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
The employee will frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
Ability to work in fast-paced restaurant setting with varying noise levels?from moderate to loud in the kitchen and dining areas.
Conditions may be slippery, requiring caution and adherence to safety protocols.
The salary range for this position begins at $62,696 and may increase commensurate with qualifications and experience. Employees are also offered EXCEPTIONAL BENEFITS!
