The Assistant Visit Center Coordinator staffs the welcome and check-in desk in the Bassett Admissions Center and is a key partner in preparing for and delivering exceptional campus visit experiences for visitors to Clark. The position is focused on high quality customer service interactions with visitors, and effective problem-solving when challenges arise to ensure smooth and enjoyable campus visits. The position will develop expert knowledge of the university and admissions process as they will assist in answering a high-volume phone line, in addition to greeting visitors in person. The candidate must possess strong communication skills and be eager to work in an always iterating and improving environment. This position is responsible for the delegation of tasks and will work in close proximity to student workers regarding their daily responsibilities.

In support of the University and its goals, the admissions office aims to be a welcoming spot on campus where visitors can learn about the very best facets of Clark University. This position helps to accomplish this goal through meaningful interaction and customer service through the college search and enrollment process. Additionally, this role sets the tone for Student Ambassadors and models attitude, professionalism, and the warm, welcoming vibe Clark is known for!

This Assistant Visit Center Coordinator will attend key events on weekend days for prospective and admitted students and their families. There are approximately five weekend events per year.

This position is a fully in-person, on-site role.

Responsibilities (90%):

  • Welcome desk receptionist
    • Involves: greeting visitors; work with student employees to make sure that tours go out on time, projects are completed correctly, and phones are being answered properly; work with admissions counselors to make sure visitor needs are being met
  • Use the database, Slate, to record all visits and prepare visit materials;
  • Answer and route emails in admissions inboxes
  • Help to answer the main admissions phone line
  • Work with the counselor responsible for overseeing the Bassett to ensure the physical space is properly cared for, stocked, and maintained
  • Provide administrative support for events as needed
  • Coordinate all room reservations for daily visits
  • Communicate with professors when students are visiting their classroom
  • Coordinating group visits including meeting the group's needs, connecting them with dining services in case of a lunch, coordinating with the supervisor of the Student Ambassador program for tour guides, and reserving rooms for extra-large visits

Other Duties as Assigned (10%)

Other duties may include administrative and supportive tasks associated with the visit experience and bigger recruitment and yield events.



Job Requirements:
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree
