Teaches in the classroom and conducts clinical teaching. Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion. Other areas of responsibility include curriculum development; participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, such as grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.

Experience
Must have expertise in Nurse Education. Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level. A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required. Expertise in the primary care throughout the lifespan required. Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred. Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state. Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred.
Education
Master’s Degree in Nursing required. Doctorate in Nursing or other related area required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in nursing or a related field; current certification in nursing; teaching experience in baccalaureate and higher degree nursing programs; total program evaluation; and NLN and/or AACN accreditation experience. Must hold current license to practice nursing in Maryland and Washington, DC.
