Overview
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team within IDD/CDRC. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides collaborative and multidisciplinary care in the OHSU/CDRC Spina Bifida Program and Feeding and Swallowing Disorders Clinic with a team of attending physicians, APPs, and allied health professionals. The APP will provide diagnosis, consultation, and treatment (to include care coordination and referral services) to individuals and their families with spina bifida and complex feeding difficulties. For patients with Spina Bifida, the APP will provide specialty care, especially related to bowel and bladder functioning, family coping, self-care, self-concept, growth and development and consultation to other community agencies and providers. The APP will work within an interdisciplinary model, coordinate clinic activities, and have primary responsibility for case management and care coordination. The APP shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
The APP faculty will have opportunities to become involved in quality improvement work, education, research, and childhood advocacy. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics, and the Division of IDD/CDRC are committed to developing our faculty members’ careers. A pathway for academic promotion for the APPs was recently implemented at OHSU.
Professional participation is expected including attendance in relevant educational conferences and didactic conferences.
As teaching is an important portion of the OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s hospital mission, you will be responsible in collaborating and teaching students and trainees.
Function/Duties of Position
The Advanced Practice Provider is a faculty member credentialed and privileged to serve as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
This role is aligned with the OHSU Dept of Pediatrics Mission of clinical, advocacy, research, and educational excellence.
