Job Description: Provide guidance and counsel on the full range of benefits pertaining to Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), health and life insurance benefits, military benefits, veterans’ preference and prior government service. Advise employees on life and health insurance conditions such as reinstatement of insurance, conversions of life insurance, five-year rule. Counsel employees concerning service credit deposits and payments, complete application forms for service credit deposit for submission to Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Explain options to employees regarding post-1956 military service deposits/payments, benefits and prior Government service; complete application forms for military service credit for submission to agency payroll for processing. Compute retirement annuity estimates, retirement calculations, and employee service computation dates using Government Retirement Benefits (GRB). Provide assistance and review of final retirement applications packages (CSRS,FERS, disability), verifying credibility of service and ensuring accuracy and completion of requisite forms before submission to OPM. Process retirement applications to include; voluntary, disability, CSRS, OFFSET, FERS, and discontinued service. Conduct new employee orientation including overview of Federal benefits
