The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the
health and safety program and plans. Provide a broad range of technical support on projects for customers. Performs risk assessment and program evaluation tasks focusing on exposures to toxic substances, industrial hygiene standards, and regulations. Collaborates with other project team members to interpret results of moderately complex studies and provide customer evaluations and assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee the health and safety program and plans.
  • Conduct research and risk assessments.
  • Draft technical reports related to environmental exposures.
  • Acquire, analyze, and interpret quantitative and/or qualitative data. Report data and conclusions to external and internal audiences through peer-reviewed documents.
  • Work collaboratively to assess data and information.
  • Participate in site visits to collect data and information.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate physical science, life science, or engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of experience developing and implementing safety and
    health plans at hazardous waste/remedial action sites or the hazardous waste
    disposal industry.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience as a full-time industrial hygienist
  • Documented experience in air monitoring technologies and in the development of personal protective equipment programs for working in potentially hazardous atmospheres
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, and DoD, Navy/Marine Corps occupational health and safety regulations
  • Registration is required for a certified industrial hygienist (CIH).
