Would you like to join an innovative team creating technology to power ground-breaking insights in academic, clinical, pharma and biotech research?This is a job description for a Laboratory Associate I in a regulated Clinical Laboratory. The primary roles for this position are to receive, process, and perform high throughput testing of samples using standard laboratory equipment and robotic liquid handling systems.
To start, this is a 9 month contract position.
Key Job Responsibilities
Perform accessioning of samples including receipt, storage, aliquoting, and disposition
Perform the SomaScan assay using robotic liquid handling systems and other laboratory equipment
Perform tasks per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI)
Ensure accurate and timely results
Maintain sample integrity and traceability throughout sample processing
Adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Comply with laboratory safety policies and procedures
Comply with Quality Assurance and Regulatory requirements
Participate in the continuous improvement process such as providing feedback
Participate in internal meetings, seminars, and trainings
Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
Operate and perform quality control checks on general laboratory equipment
Maintain stocks of general laboratory supplies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution
Good attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and time management
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team
Experience using microliter single-channel and multi-channel pipettes
Experience performing data entry
Experience using laboratory equipment
Work Environment
Work is in a typical laboratory environment with Personal Protective Equipment use required.
The work environment may include, but is not limited to, the following hazards: chemical, electronic, mechanical, biohazard waste, and infectious material.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is regularly required to stoop, crouch, and twist. Occasionally the employee is required to kneel, squat, and sit.
As Standard BioTools is a Hazardous Waste Generator, this position performs hazardous waste duties in accordance with internal controlled documents, local, State and Federal regulations.
Salary range: $18.5-$26.5/hour
