Job Details

Description

Responsible for providing direct patient care within the practice & directive of collaborating physician; assessment and management of patients; day to day implementation and evaluation of the appropriate plan of care; serving as a consultant, researcher, and educator. This position will cover in-patient and out-patient rounds.

Works in collaboration with the Physician as well as nursing and support services to provide patient-focused care.
Performs history & physicals, documentation of findings; communication with collaborating Provider.
Orders appropriate diagnostic testing; reviews results/ informs patients & Providers of findings and required follow up.
Patient education and support.
Ensures continuity of care for follow-up treatments.
Other duties as necessary under direction of Provider/s and Administration.

Blend of inpatient and outpatient care:

    • Inpatient coverage is rotated alongside a supervising physician (currently a 1:4 rotation during business hours)
    • No weekend coverage required
    • No hospital call coverage outside of normal business hours
    • Some limited clinic call coverage as part of the team may be needed

As expected with all healthcare positions, must adhere to HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN regulations and maintain annual required workplace trainings.

Education

Required

Masters or better in Nursing.

Experience

Required

Active Kentucky Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license; FNP; DNP
ACLS/BLS required.
Medical office/ hospital experience highly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high focus on quality patient care in teamwork-oriented environment.

Preferred

Previous work experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, or relevant specialties preferred but not required.
