Graduate Assistant, College Enhancement
Reports to the Director of College Enhancement
20 hours/week, fall spring and summer terms
As a member of the Gatton Office of College Enhancement, the graduate assistant will contribute to the overall mission of the College, participate in relevant meetings/trainings, and continually work using data to inform and improve programs and services. The graduate assistant will manage multiple projects at one time and will work with various types of data from several university databases. He/she will be working directly with faculty and other administrators to answer key questions/indicators for progress.
The Assessment Graduate Assistant will work directly with the Director of College Enhancement to gather and report data pertinent to the mission of the College. This includes but is not limited to:
• Collection and compilation of both quantitative and qualitative data, as well as synthesis of results.
• Creation and execution of surveys using online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics), and assisting in the implementation of data collection procedures as needed
• Assisting the Effectiveness team to meet annual and periodic accreditation requirements
• Report creation for Assurance of Learning for Student Learning Outcome Assessment (a major component of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation requirements).
• Cleaning and maintenance of datasets and reports
• Occasional presentation and consultation of assessment findings to relevant parties
The graduate student will learn valuable transferable skills that can be used after graduation including data analysis and project management as well as university-level governance processes and classroom assessment strategies, all of which are essential for students interested in academia. The graduate student will be exposed to data analysis and survey design software and will also have opportunities to showcase their written and verbal communication skills through various reports and presentations. This is a highly interactive and dynamic position; former graduate students would tell you it was definitely a learning experience.
This position is a hybrid role. The graduate assistant will be expected to attend weekly team meetings and complete some working hours on campus to encourage collaboration and synergy with the team. The majority of hours may be worked off-campus.
