Position Summary:
This position provides technical support to the dental implant surface finishing and packaging department (SLx) at the Straumann Manufacturing site in Andover, Massachusetts by ensuring all equipment and processes are performing at maximum efficiency. This is a hands-on technical position in an automated production environment. The position may also entail outright production of medical devices (dental implants) as deemed necessary by the department Line Chief.
Job Responsibilities:
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for production and support equipment. This includes cleaning of the equipment and adjacent work areas.
• Perform unplanned maintenance for production and support equipment.
• Optimize performance of production and support equipment by adjusting, modifying or otherwise tuning said equipment to maximize on-line time and minimize production cycle time.
• Assist production associates and operators in setting up and adjusting equipment for specific lot processing.
• Complete and file all preventive and unplanned maintenance records.
• Manage department consumables and spare parts inventory.
• Run production equipment or perform manual production tasks as directed by the department Line Chief.
• Ensure all equipment and processes operate in accordance with established environmental, health and safety procedures.
• Obtain OSHA Hazmat first responder certification within 12 months of hire date
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Attributes:
• Lift 50lb without restriction
• Utilize manual dexterity and manipulate small objects
Work Environment:
• Production environment will include working in ISO7 clean rooms with required clothing (gown, mask, gloves, footwear).
• Production environment will include working with hot concentrated acid mixtures, Aluminum oxide blasting media, high pressure abrasive blasting equipment, inert gases and compressed gases.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in an automated production environment
• 2+ years of experience working with MS Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in medical device manufacturing and quality system compliance
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to be agile and change area of focus as required in a fast-paced production environment
• Excellent understanding of mechanical devices, as well analytical skills to diagnose and develop plans to address machinery issues.
