Based in Park City, UT, Triumph Geared Solutions is a leading independent aerospace gear and gear box supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 200 employees. The Company’s key products and services include power transmission systems, integrated gearbox design and builds, airframe mounted accessor drives (AMAD’s), engine mounted accessory drives (EMAD’s), rotorcraft transmissions, turboshaft internal gearboxes, emergency power gearboxes, and large complex aero gears for both OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.?

 

?Park City, UT lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it’s bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes.

Responsibilities

 

  • Works closely with Sr. Manufacturing Engineers to perform the following functions:
    • Help production operators, supervisors, and other functional teams to continually improving product flow and quality using Mastercam software to improve cycle times.
    • Initiates, evaluates, and implements process improvements using best shop practices.
    • Increase knowledge regarding manufacturing capacity and capabilities planning.
    • Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes by:
      • designing and conducting research programs to improve cycle time and reduce non-conformances.
      • applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to NC programming methodologies.
      • conferring with equipment vendors
      • soliciting observations from operators.

  • Designs and develops cutting tools (physical and analytical) to assist and improve production processes.
  • Develops written manufacturing setup instructions in accordance with appropriate drawings and specification.
  • Assures product and process quality by testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Completes NC programs and development projects on time and on budget.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing objectives laid out through site-wide initiatives

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s in Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering related field required
  • 3-5 years of NC programming in the aerospace industry required
    •  programming complex housing and gear manufacturing or process planning experience is preferred
  • 3D modeling experience using Pro Engineer / CREO a plus
  • Working knowledge of Mastercam 2020 is required
  • Working knowledge of Creo NC Manufacturing processes a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with basic aerospace measuring tools
  • Working knowledge of GD&T a plus
  • Basic Computer Skills: proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel etc.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, specifications, and repair/overhaul manuals
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards a plus
  • Gear manufacturing a plus
