Position

We are looking to fill a 1st Shift Mechanical Product Associate position for 1st shift in West Hartford, CT.  This is a union position (UAW), with an excellent wage and benefits package.  
 

Responsibilities

•Prepare and perform a wide variety of operations regarding the development, sub-assembly, assembly and inspection necessary to perform the operation, test, calibration, tear down, overhaul and repair of all assigned products.
•Build HVAC units and sub-assemblies such as compressors.
•Perform necessary tasks to complete work assignments in a timely fashion.  Tasks include but not limited to assemble components, inspect components and assemblies, fit components, calibrate, test, oil flush and safety wire, minor machine operations (e.g. bearing lapping machine), disassembly, solder to defined standards, evaluate, rework, replace components, and repair as necessary.  
•Assist and support engineers when required.  Communicate information and complete documentation.  Work instructions, documentation, and specifications range from medium to complex difficulty.  A wide variety of tools and gages are used.

Qualifications

•Prior shop experience such as Automotive, HVAC, or Aerospace environment
•Must be comfortable working with large, heavy units. (Units can weight up to 300 lbs)
•Comfortable using variety of tools and test stands.
•High School Diploma required.
•Good communications skills and the ability to work well within a team.
•Must be able to read and interpret instructions.
•Prior job experience utilizing tools and gages a plus.
•Ability to multi-task in this high volume, face-paced environment is needed.
•EPA 608 Certification preferred.
