Responsibilities

Basic Purpose

Performs advanced programming and application management activities. Provides technical expertise, advanced problem solving and troubleshooting assistance in support of application environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs advanced programming and application management activities; provides support and technical experience.

• Partners with IT technical and functional staff to problem-solve, troubleshoot and research issues.

• Creates, maintains, and manages message queues.

• Monitors and manages schedulers/environments.

• Manages applications, web servers and other middleware software solutions.

Provides technical expertise, advanced problem solving and troubleshooting assistance in support of application environments.

• Works with project teams, vendors, and developers to assess, recommend, and implement application solutions.

• Plans, schedules, and estimates hardware resources necessary to accomplish software upgrades.

• Installs, maintains, configures, upgrades and ensures the integrity of software application.

• Recommends and coordinates establishing application governance and security models around the applicant environment; implements approved models.

• Manages, coordinates and establishes application integration with other systems.

• Documents installation and administration of products.

Ensures compliance with change control and migration policies.

Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in the area of specialty and 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Broad understanding of IT architecture concepts, principles, and standards. Advanced knowledge of position-specific programming or scripting languages. Ability to plan, develop, and lead complex projects and balance competing priorities. Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and research skills. Require development, maintenance and monitoring of PERL and Bash shell scripts in a Linux environment. Must have seasoned experience with Linux Redhat V5+ OS tools and monitoring. Experience with configuring, managing and monitoring JAVA runtime environment and libraries integrated into the Linux OS. Must be able to communicate effectively with OS administrators and product operation staff in identifying and resolving issues related to highly visible 24x7 enterprise applications. Intermediate skillset relative to Oracle RDBMS database using SQL required. Implementing and managing Windows and Linux based patches using vendor supplied scripts. Willingness to take ownership of the health and reliability of two 24/7 Tier 1 Enterprise Applications required. Lead upgrades and quarterly patches on two 24/7 Tier 1 Enterprise Applications as required.

Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Specific applications and systems as required by position.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $90,200 (Min) to $106,200 (Mid); Up to 12% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
