NeoGenomics is looking for a Sr. Quality Specialist wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an onsite position with a Monday – Friday Day shift.

Position Summary:

As a Senior Quality Specialist you will execute quality initiatives in laboratory operational disciplines. Assist in maintaining a Quality Program using recognized principles of quality assurance and current industry best practices, including CAP/CLIA guideline while maintaining a collaborative partnership and close working relationship with Operational management personnel and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure laboratory operations comply with CLIA regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Assist in preparing for inspections and audits from regulatory agencies (e.g., CAP, COLA)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs to monitor laboratory processes and outcomes
  • Review and approve quality control data, identifying trends and initiating corrective actions as needed
  • Coordinate staff training programs to ensure compliance with CLIA standards
  • Conduct regular competency assessments for laboratory personnel
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of quality programs, corrective actions, and proficiency testing
  • Generate reports on laboratory performance metrics for management review
  • Investigate quality issues and non-conformities, implementing solutions to enhance laboratory performance

Experience, Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required
  • 5 or more years of experience in a CLIA-certified high complexity laboratory, with preference for CLS licensure, CLS Licensure or similar preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and federal/state regulations related to clinical laboratories
  • Technical laboratory knowledge of assigned operational discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on MS Word and Excel
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to thrive in high-stress environments while making sound judgments
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
