Job Details:

Mercer University is searching for an Instructional Technology Specialist.


Responsibilities:

The Instructional Technology Specialist supports the effective use of instructional technologies across the university’s teaching and learning environment. This position works closely with academic and administrative units to support the university’s Learning Management System (LMS) – Canvas, video LMS (Echo360), Watermark Course Evaluations, Turnitin, and other academic tools. In addition to instructional technology support, the role includes oversight of the multimedia lab and student workers and assistance to faculty and staff. This position will also perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Information Technology, or a related field and two years of experience in educational technology, instructional design, or a related area, with demonstrated experience managing instructional technology tools are required. Candidates must have proficiency with Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to design, organize and deliver customized workshops and consultations for faculty and students.

  • Ability to design and produce customized instructional materials.

  • Ability to find and evaluate online information.

  • Ability to deliver engaging oral presentations to groups and classes.

  • Ability to use Macintosh and PC computers and related software applications.

  • Ability to plan, implement and manage projects.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of educators and stakeholders.

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical skills in resolving technology-related issues.
