UK Students in the following fields of study are preferred: Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education or Psychology. Other fields may be considered if applicant has a strong background in early childhood.
Required Related Experience
Applicant must have experience working with young children in home or school settings.
Required License/Registration/Certification
Applicant must have a current negative TB test (within the last 2 years) or be willing to get one. CPR and 1st aid certification is preferable.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to pick up children weighing up to 40 pounds, push strollers and be able to get up and down from the floor several times a day.
Shift
Times are flexible between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Job Summary
The Early Childhood Lab is hiring energetic students to work in our Spring 2024 Semester. Students may work up to 25 hours a week.


Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The job duties of an assistant teacher/ student worker at the ECL include playing with and supervising young children, helping classroom teachers with cleaning and organizing, assisting with daily routines, reading to children, and going to the playground and walks around campus.
