Responsibilities

We are looking for a Yard Manager to join our team! In this role, you will supervise and direct Yard personnel in shipping, receiving, and handling products. You will provide leadership in loading/unloading techniques, yard organization, inventory control, vehicle maintenance, and safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure PPE compliance and maintain a safe work environment
  • Facilitate departmental communication and meetings
  • Report unsafe conditions or injuries to the Plant Manager
  • Conduct cycle-counts
  • Operate and maintain forklifts and yard vehicles
  • Manage product rotation and yard housekeeping
  • Maximize payloads and minimize loading errors
  • Coordinate DOT stock lots and minimize departmental overtime
  • Inspect finished goods quality
  • Confirm customer orders (ASN)
  • Manage yard layout and organization
  • Oversee L/MH certification programs and CPU/RMA management
  • Promote ADS CORE VALUES and a positive work environment
  • Manage operating supply purchases

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or associate’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Yard Loader
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
  • Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
  • Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
  • Ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
  • Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
