In this job you will

As a Transport Supervisor at DHL, you'll overcome daily logistical challenges to ensure operations run smoothly.  In a fast-paced environment, where every day is different, you'll have the autonomy to make decisions and be able to continually grown professionally.  Use your talents to lead a committed team to greatness and drive the future of logistics, using the latest technology you will:

• Be the main contact between customer, carriers, dispatch points and planning teams, facilitating relationships that yield continuous improvement
• work with our operations and planning teams to monitor information and priorities, ensuring the correct scheduling of containers for distribution on our transport solution based networks
• execute transport plans at a national level and effectively monitor performance, identifying any opportunities for improvement
• work closely with our internal stakeholders including our transport, sales, finance and warehouse teams to coordinate the most efficient and cost-effective delivery schedules for our customers
• Support the Linehaul Manager with the coordination and overseeing day to day movements of vehicles to ensure all operations are executed on time and safely.
• Ensuring maximum productivity is achieved through dedicated and informed planning.
• Take reasonable and practicable actions to verify and ensure activities comply with relevant legislation, and company policies, procedures, safe working method standards and rules.

About you

• Experience working in Transport, Warehousing, sea freight and or rail operations desirable
• Industry experience within Transport is essential
• Relevant experience in daily operations, especially freight and or commodity-based transport solutions of muti mode
• Proven performance management and strong leadership experience
• Highly experienced in building and maintaining Customer Relationships
• Proven Continuous Improvement and problem-solving skills
• Solid knowledge of the Metropolitan area essential  
• High level planning and organisational skills to ensure operation excellence
• Superior software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
