Job Title: Print and Inserting Maintenance Technician

Department: Production

Reports to: Department Manager

Location: Rochester

Full-Time: A typical work schedule is standard business hours, with the flexibility required to handle escalations or support during peak times or special projects.

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Non-exempt:
Compensation: Compensation starts at $47,000 - $62,000 annually depending on experience.

 

The salary range reflects the anticipated compensation for the role and may vary based on several factors, including experience, education, specific skill sets, tenure, and overall fit. Position Summary:
 The Print and Inserting Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of print and inserting equipment to ensure optimal production performance. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical and technical issues, performing routine servicing, and collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards.

Essential Duties:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on digital printers and inserting machines to ensure peak efficiency and minimize breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues affecting production equipment.
  • Work with operators to identify and resolve performance issues and optimize equipment functionality.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and report issues to management.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications to improve efficiency and output.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Equipment uptime percentage.
  • Number of breakdown incidents per month.
  • Average time to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Adherence to scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Compliance with safety and operational guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

Employees may be required to perform duties outside their primary responsibilities or assigned department, as reasonably requested by management. These duties may occasionally occur outside of regular working hours, provided they align with applicable labor laws and are compensated fairly and appropriately, reflecting the value of your contribution to the organization.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
 The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. 

  • Work is performed in a warehouse or production facility environment.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and printing chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, push 800 pounds on a load-bearing cart, carry 25 pounds, and pull 200 pounds.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, crouching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and using repetitive motions of hands or wrists; finger, grasp, handle, or feel; reach with arms and hands for extended periods.
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
