Overview

Assist On Track Middle School Coordinator with implementation of pre-developed middle school lessons.

  • Facilitate and lead in-person visits for 6-8th grade students in Woodburn and North/Northeast Portland schools, including Faubion PreK-8, Harriet Tubman Middle School, Ockley Green Middle School, Vernon K-8, Parkrose Middle School, Valor Middle School, and French Prairie Middle School.

Support with On Track High School and Middle School Events at OHSU.

  • Work with Program Director and Middle School Program Coordinator to prepare for On Track events, including facilitation, preparation, organization of materials, and event coordination. Communicate clearly and thoroughly with the Program Director and Middle School Program Coordinator on availability and other aspects pertaining to scheduling and preparation.

Assist in preparation for On Track middle school lessons

  • Become familiar with middle school lessons. Prepare materials, documents, and tools in the primary office needed for middle school visits. 

Research and Evaluation

  • Prepare survey materials. Organize data by school district. 


Responsibilities

  • Currently a student enrolled in an undergraduate program (minimum 6 credit hours) OR enrolled in a graduate program (minimum 4.5 credit hours).

  • Demonstrated experience working with youth.

  • Demonstrated record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and proven successful performance.

  • Reliable method to travel to North/Northeast Portland school sites, Woodburn school sites, and Marquam Hill office.

  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, especially PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to serve as a positive and professional role model.

  • Flexibility and adaptability

  • Time management



Qualifications



  • Enrolled in STEM or Education coursework with a strong interest in working with youth in a classroom

  • Experience leading middle school age youth through activities; past or present participation in a diversity  program or group.
