Med-Biomedical Informatics - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (25002040)

The postdoc candidate will be responsible for contributing to the development of computational methods for delineating cell context-specific regulatory programs, as part of the NIH-funded project titled “Computational methods for delineating cell context-specific regulatory programs.” This includes advancing and extending our framework by implementing multi-task and interpretable deep learning models and analyzing single-cell multi-omics and spatial transcriptomics datasets in diverse biological contexts.

Duties will involve designing and implementing computational models, analyzing large-scale single-cell and spatial omics datasets, preparing manuscripts for publication, assisting with grant-related reports, developing open-source software packages, and collaborating closely with experimental and computational researchers. You will also be expected to participate in regular lab meetings, contribute to mentoring junior lab members when applicable, and fulfill any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Candidates should possess a PhD in an applied quantitative discipline, such as computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, mathematics, or computer science, with a strong interest in translational biomedical research. Ideal candidates would have publications demonstrating experience with applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, deep learning, or computational biology. The successful candidate should be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, exhibiting qualities of diligence, motivation, and eagerness to learn, alongside an outstanding work ethic.
