About the Role:

The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the overall HR functions within the bank. This position is responsible for managing various HR processes, including recruitment, payroll functions, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Generalist will work closely with department managers to ensure that staffing needs are met and that employees are engaged and productive. Additionally, this role involves the development and implementation of HR policies and programs that align with the organization's goals. Ultimately, the HR Generalist contributes to creating a positive workplace culture that fosters employee growth and satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a human resources role.
  • 100% in-office role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Provide support with payroll functions.
  • Provide support in employee relations matters, addressing concerns and facilitating conflict resolution.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and training programs.

Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential for the HR Generalist role, as these tools are used daily for creating reports, managing employee data, and drafting HR documents. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with employees and management, ensuring that HR policies are clearly understood and followed. Organizational skills are critical for managing multiple tasks and deadlines, particularly during recruitment cycles and performance review periods. Analytical skills are beneficial for interpreting HR metrics and making data-driven decisions to improve employee engagement and retention. Additionally, interpersonal skills are vital for fostering a positive work environment and building strong relationships across the organization.
