Overview

Job Summary

The Innovation Impact Intern will work directly with NJEDA Innovation Impact staff to provide support to help advancing marketing and communication initiatives. Position is hybrid.

This is a paid internship.



Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project management of tactical communication programs, such as newsletters, case studies, PowerPoints, and more, across Innovation Impact subdivisions: Clean Energy, Venture and Technology Innovation teams.
  • Assist Innovation Impact team including Clean Energy, Venture and Technology Innovation teams with outreach initiatives.
  • Draft outreach materials including newsletter and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Expand and maintain media contact list which includes researching and identifying contacts at targeted industry outlets.
  • Managing event attendance for Impact team members. This includes organizing and planning calendars for various team members.
  • Assist with NJEDA’s customer relationship management platform, “CRM,” and Sharepoint files to input and organize accounts, contacts and maintain files.
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (proficient in grammar, spelling and editing)
  • Experience using Internet / AI tools to research and locate information. Also has ability to summarize findings.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, TEAMs, Dynamics 365, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints.
  • Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.
  • Graphic design skills helpful, but not required. Canva knowledge preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program related to finance, marketing, communications, public relations or a similar combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired.

  • Combination of virtual and in office

  • Valid driver’s license

Position Requirements
