Assessment Coordinator



At the Office of Medical Education, we dedicate ourselves to facilitate high-quality, evidence-based, and learner-centered training to students, to support and enable them to learn the art and science of medicine, so they can become outstanding physicians who are healers, activists, innovators, and leaders.

Additional years of experience (3-5 years) in a high level administrative role, preferably with an emphasis in testing and/or evaluation, maybe be substituted for the degree. Demonstrated working familiarity with statistical analysis and software as well as testing and/or evaluation. Experience and knowledge of computer data management and methods of data analysis. Excellent organizational skills, a high degree of accuracy, and careful attention to detail.


Job Summary

Oversees all aspects of clinical test assessments and administration. Proctors assessments, oversees the timely submission of grades, and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Serves as a point of contact regarding clinical test assessments and prepares communications regarding performance.


Essential Functions

Serves the Office of Medical Education (OMED) in an administrative/professional capacity by assuming leadership responsibility for coordinating assessment/testing, test scoring, and review for medical student course/clerkship examinations. Executes associated information management (e.g., data collection and processing; database design and maintenance; reporting and analysis). Serves as National Board of Medical Education Executive Chief Proctor for the School of Medicine. Expected to work collaboratively with other OMED staff, faculty, departments, students, and other stakeholders, and with autonomy and discretion within the scope of the position. Assists in the day-to-day operations of the office.


Physical Effort

Incumbent is expected to move about Scaife Hall particularly and the University and University Medical Center generally. Incumbent may be expected to lift heavy objects in conjunction with resources (e.g., boxes of clinical instruments) for performance-based evaluations.
