Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage hybrid infrastructure, including on-premise and cloud-based systems (Azure, M365, VSphere, etc.).
  • Maintain and monitor virtualized environments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Manage server installations, configurations, and upgrades for both on-premise and cloud servers.
  • Oversee the management and operations of on-premise data center systems, including hardware, networking, power, and cooling.
  • Ensure the physical security and optimal performance of data center infrastructure and related systems.
  • Implement and maintain security measures for both on-site and cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Regularly perform system audits and patch management.
  • Oversee and manage backup strategies for both local and cloud systems.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline system administration tasks.
  • Utilize tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate routine processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing support to users for both on-premise and cloud-based systems, resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems in a hybrid environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to align hybrid system operations with business needs.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and disaster recovery procedure.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, with a focus on hybrid environments (combination of on-premise and cloud infrastructure).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services (Azure, M365, AWS, etc.).
  • Experience in network administration and security protocols.
  • Certifications such as, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are a plus.

Critical Skills and Expertise

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in server management, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
