Position: Scheduler - P6

Location: Surry County, VA

Position Summary:

The Spear Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Scheduler with P6 proficiency. This is a great opportunity for someone with power and utilities project experience to delve further into nuclear power projects. This is an Owner's side / rep Scheduler position supporting our national power & utilities client with their crucial nuclear power projects in VA.

Preferred - Primary Skills/Qualifications:

  • Considerable knowledge and work experience in project Scheduling, Planning and Work Management
  • High Proficiency in Primavera P6 software and Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Proven ability to prepare and present technical information and data in a variety of formats
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work of self and others, work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience through effective interaction with various levels of personnel and management
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and abstract thinking skills, good problem-solving skills, skill in determining the impact of changing variables
  • Must be detail oriented

Desired - Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years experience utilizing Oracle Primavera P6 software.
  • 5+ years experience in Electrical Power Generation (2+ years in Nuclear).
  • Scheduler must be capable of creating, editing, progressing & analyzing Project Schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software.
  • Bachelor/Associate degree and/or equivalent experience in Project Management with a focus on Planning & Scheduling. Completion of technical program in craft discipline (mechanical, electrical, instrument and controls, etc.) of Electrical Power Generation.
  • Prior work experience demonstrating working knowledge of craft specialties; related work experience preparing Project and Maintenance Outage schedules required.
  • High Proficiency in Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule analysis, with considerable experience in the use of a computer, spreadsheet applications and on-line scheduling software
  • High Proficiency in Spreadsheet software applications
