JOB DESCRIPTION:

VAE is working on a project that tackles the problem of managing large-scale IT networks. We are seeking talented and highly motivated QA Automation Engineers to join us in bringing this project to a larger audience.

You would be responsible for test automation development to support internal product development efforts. You will work with QA leadership to identify and prioritize test cases that should be automated and then develop, run, and diagnose failures of automated tests on a daily basis. You will also actively participate in test automation strategy, implementation, and code reviews. Our application is a multi-service .NET Core application (with some TypeScript and Perl components) running on Docker and backed primarily by PostgreSQL that leverages REST APIs and RabbitMQ messaging to perform intra- and extra-application communication. The application source is hosted in GitLab, and we use GitLab CI and Git to manage our code contribution workflows.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Things we really need

  • Experience planning/creating/debugging automated tests
  • Working knowledge of executing automated tests and creating defect reports
  • Ability to code in one or more languages (C#, Javascript, Typescript, Python)
  • Direct experience writing automation frameworks. Protractor or Webdriver preferred
  • Experience identifying, recording, and tracking defects to resolution
  • 2 - 5 years of experience
  • United States citizenship

Things we'd like

  • Direct experience with UNIX/Linux systems
  • Experience writing and executing test cases using a test case management tool
  • Basic network knowledge
  • Able to analyze and solve problems of a complex nature with little guidance
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and solutions
  • Proficient in the use of cloud-based productivity solutions.
  • Prior experience conducting or taking part in code reviews
  • Direct experience writing API tests using scripting languages. Python preferred
  • Direct experience with SQL and/or NoSQL database systems preferred
  • Prior use of a code repository (Git, SVN, Mercurial)
  • Prior experience with container based technologies such as Docker
  • Prior experience with CI/CD tools and pipeline
