We are seeking a proactive and strategic Regulatory Affairs Coordinator to join our team and support both our Workers’ Compensation and Healthcare lines of business. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a key resource in monitoring, analyzing, and communicating legislative and regulatory developments that could impact our operations across the country. You will play a central role in translating complex legal and regulatory changes into clear, actionable guidance for internal stakeholders, and helping ensure our ongoing compliance through thoughtful engagement and collaboration. You will develop and lead training for employees on these topics as relevant to their areas of responsibility.

If you’re someone who thrives at the intersection of policy, communication, and business strategy — and you love helping teams stay ahead of compliance — this is your opportunity to make a real impact. This is a full remote work opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Legislation & Regulations: Track proposed and enacted laws and regulations related to workers’ compensation at the federal and state levels; assess potential business impacts.
  • Communicate Regulatory Updates: Clearly and concisely summarize relevant changes and communicate implications across multiple departments and audiences, enabling informed and timely decision-making. Deliver timely, concise updates to internal teams, turning complex regulations into business-friendly guidance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively connect with business units to understand their goals, questions, and needs regarding compliance and regulatory trends.
  • Support Compliance Readiness: Offer value-added insights to internal teams by embedding with business partners and identifying regulatory considerations early in the planning process.
  • Develop Resources: Create, implement, and maintain SharePoint content hubs with up-to-date regulatory information, FAQs, tools, training programs, and reference materials to support ongoing education and compliance.
  • Foster Collaboration: Serve as a go-to resource for compliance questions while also actively reaching out to departments to ensure alignment and awareness. Work with internal partners to embed compliance considerations into planning and execution.
  • Drive Communication Strategy: Develop tailored communication plans and materials to support understanding of regulatory requirements, using formats appropriate for various audiences.
  • Conduct Research: Perform independent research to validate regulatory interpretations and support business decision-making with well-informed insights contributing to enterprise readiness.

Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of the legislative process and how regulatory changes at both the state and federal levels impact business operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal and visual - you can tailor messages to diverse audiences distilling complex information into insights people can act on.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with teams across all levels of the business.
  • Tech-savvy with experience using Microsoft Office and SharePoint for site creation and management.
  • Well-versed in navigating and utilizing compliance resources across all 50 states, with a strong track record of staying current on varying state-specific regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant compliance experience a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or legal analysis within health insurance, workers’ compensation, or a highly regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without authority.
  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethics and ability to remain firm with these principles under pressure.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the insurance industry, particularly in workers’ compensation.
  • Familiarity with legislative tracking tools and legal research databases.
  • Ability to translate complex regulations into actionable guidance and business strategy.

Travel:

  • Some travel to various locations within the United States may be required during the initial stages of the onboarding process. Additionally, the Regulatory Affairs Coordinator will likely travel to the corporate offices in Walnut Creek, CA and/or Tampa, FL two to three times per calendar year.
