Job Summary
The KCH DanceBlue Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic and Hemophilia Treatment Center is seeking a School Intervention Specialist.
The School Intervention Specialist serves as a case manager for patients as they reintegrate into the school system. Develops, updates, and provides education/medical programs and materials for educators, students, and the community on behalf of the student with cancer and other blood disorders and to provide a successful school re-integration for the school-aged patients as a part of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children, and adolescents.
Coordinates literature searches and participates in research activities intended to refine standards of practice ultimately improving the educational outcomes of patients. Applies advanced problem-solving skills in practice and provides guidance as it relates to solving the more complex issues within a caseload. Initiates and maintains regional networking opportunities to benefit the patients and the program. Assists School Intervention Specialist Supervisor with program projects from inception to completion.
Some travel throughout the state to school systems required.
