Description:

Purpose: The Treasury Analyst is responsible for assisting in maintaining the systems, data, and analytical modeling of the Company’s interest rate risk. This position is a dedicated resource for Treasury staff position back-ups in the Cash Administrator position and Municipal Business Analyst position. This position performs various analytical and financial reporting modeling for senior management while performing additional responsibilities in the Treasury and Finance functions as assigned.


Essential Functions:

  • Assist in maintaining the systems, data, and analytical modeling of the Company’s interest rate risk. Develops scenarios, reports, and recommendations for senior management.
  • Performs the Cash Administrator functions as needed, including determining the Bank’s daily cash position ensuring required reserve targets and correspondent bank balances are maintained, decisioning over investing, and borrowing funds completed in accordance with Bank policy, and reporting of the Bank’s liquidity position daily.
  • Prepares, performs, and distributes financial analysis related to the Treasury, Municipal, and CDARS/ICS lines of business and derivative activities.
  • Applies analytical research and assistance to Finance staff in developing in-house profitability reporting on a fully allocated, co-terminus funds transfer priced basis.
  • Assists with external reporting including both SEC and bank regulatory report preparation, as it pertains to market risk, on an as needed basis.
  • Prepares, performs, and distributes internal financial analysis, including but not limited to, cash flow projections, budgeting, and long-term forecasting on an as needed basis.
  • Gathers and reviews information to perform financial analysis on third-party vendors for GLBA compliance, in conjunction with the Third-Party Risk Management Associate.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders. Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.


Job Related Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Prior Experience: 3+ years of Treasury or Asset Liability Management experience


Competencies:

  • Possess knowledge of Asset Liability Management, Interest Rate Risk, Finance and Accounting concepts and a strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with all levels of staff and management
  • Understanding of internal control, audit methods, core business procedures, risks and related exposure
  • Analytical ability to interpret data and present it in a meaningful and easily understood form while providing recommendations
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and utilize new existing banking, accounting, and reporting and planning software applications


Physical Requirements:

  • Able to regularly sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasional travel within the corporate footprint.
  • Extensive computer usage is required.
