Description:

Purpose: The Regional President serves as the head of the market with responsibility for connecting clients, teammates and communities to the full power of the Five Star Bank/Courier Capital franchise driving integration across the bank’s lines of business in pursuit of strong and enduring relationships. Position is responsible for cultivating relationships with customers, prospects and Centers of Influence. In collaboration with a regional commercial banking team comprised of CRE and C&I relationship managers, the Regional President is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of new and existing Commercial clients, and executing strategic and tactical initiatives to expand market share and achieve business development and budget objectives (ICS/CDARS, merchant services, residential mortgage).

The Regional President serves on a number of bank committees as assigned including Senior Leadership Team and Executive Loan Committee, and as appropriate Allowance, ALCO, AML/BSA, Credit, Disclosure, New Product Approval, Project Approval, Workout CAR/NAR


Essential Functions:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement tactical plans to drive business growth and achieve new business objectives in alignment with overall line of business and company goals.
  • Business Development: Lead efforts to identify and pursue new business opportunities, expand market presence and grow commercial loan and deposit balances. Chair regional Market Management program.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their financial needs and providing customized banking solutions.
  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies while mitigating risks associated with lending activities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze key performance metrics and financial data to assess the effectiveness of the execution supporting strategic and tactical initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape and market dynamics to identify opportunities and threats, and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: collaborate with other departments such as credit, treasury management, residential mortgage, retail and wealth management to deliver comprehensive banking solutions to clients.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the bank in the local community, participate in industry events, not-for-profit boards and community initiatives to enhance brand visibility and reputation of the bank.
  • Proactively work to generate additional non-interest income through opening new deposit accounts, cash management products, merchant card services, , wealth management, and other financial services for prospects and existing customers.
  • Manage, maintain, and service a large loan portfolio that meets established lending requirements and maximizes profitability with acceptable risk.
  • Review customer application documentation and financial data acting as first line of quality control for individual and team credit opportunities prior to submitting to underwriting by utilizing knowledge of credit risk process and ensure that all relevant credit operating and compliance policies and procedures are followed. Prepare clear and concise opportunity and/or transaction memorandums to be delivered with credit requests for approval.

Job Related Qualifications – Education and Prior Experience:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Prior Experience: 10+ years of Commercial Lending Sales and Business Development.

Physical Requirements:
