Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); utilizing mouse, keyboard, and phone for portions of the day. Ability to travel to various locations on and off-campus for meetings and checking on animals. Must be able to wear protective gear.

Shift
Primarily days (i.e. Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm) Please be aware that as an exempt position, job duties may occasionally require additional time in the evenings, nights, holidays and/or weekends to accomplish work goals in excess of 40 hours per week.
Must participate in rotational on-call weekends and holidays.

The Division of Laboratory Animal Resources (DLAR) is a support unit for animal-based research at UK and provides the best possible veterinary and humane care for the laboratory animal species used by researchers at UK. The DLAR Lab Animal Veterinarian Senior will provide clinical care for DLAR operations. This position will work with clinical veterinarians and support staff to address emerging needs and help ensure investigators, animal care, and supervisor staff maintain appropriate standards for animal care and welfare.
