The SIU School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL seeks full-time qualified Dental Assistant I candidates to assist dental students, faculty, and residents in providing comprehensive patient care.
The SIU School of Dental Medicine provides a range of treatments, cutting-edge dental therapy, and individualized care in a modern and relaxed setting.
What You Will Do
- Enjoy hands-on experience and exposure to a variety of dental procedures and practices
- Preparation of equipment for dental treatments, ensuring the sterilization of dental instruments, and maintaining accurate patient records
- Stock dental operatories with required disposable supplies and perform daily inspections to check operatories for any unreturned instruments, materials, or equipment
- Provide students with necessary materials and equipment for clinical sessions
- Contribute to creating and updating inventory logs
- Aid in managing the intake and return of cases to and from external dental labs
Minimum Acceptable QualificationsMinimum Acceptable Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent
The Ideal Candidate Will Have- Ability to perform functions of administrative and clerical procedures managing files and records, designing forms, and managing inventory
- Knowledge of basic business software to input data, access information, and/or create materials and documents
- Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
- Ability to remain continuously on task for several hours while sitting, standing, or moving
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, confidentiality, and respect when speaking with patients, peers, faculty, and staff
