Job Summary

This position is responsible for supervising a team that implements the daily supply plans by nominating, scheduling, and transporting natural gas and power suppliers for delivery into UGI’s Distribution System and reconciling supply purchases and scheduling activity in the Company’s Gas Management System. This position is also responsible for managing the confirmation of supplies scheduled on behalf of the Company, Third-Party Suppliers, and Transportation Customers into the Company’s distribution system through the Company’s interconnects. This position requires participation in an on-call schedule working before/after regular working hours, including work on holidays and/or weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team responsible for scheduling the transportation and storage of natural gas supplies and capacity releases on the interstate pipelines serving the Company. Provide training for new employees and cross training for team. Analyze and communicate the impact of pipeline restrictions on the Company’s asset portfolio and supply plan to the Supply Planning Group. Identify and work to implement new procedures to streamline the scheduling process.
  • Supervise the confirmation of deliveries across all supply sources into the UGI Distribution System. Ensure the Scheduling Team’s timely reconciliation of all supply purchases, storage, and OBA activity to the Supply Planning Group. Ensure the timely reconciliation of all Transportation Customer supply & customer nominations. Identify and work to implement new procedures to streamline the confirmation process.
  • Oversee the accounting close processes including the review of invoices from interstate pipelines, storage facilities, or third-party suppliers. Complete all necessary SOX Compliance controls.
  • Participate in Department’s on-call schedule. Implement the Company’s contingency supply plans based on real-time pipeline conditions after normal business hours.
  • Manage the scheduling of the Company’s power supplies on PJM according to the Company’s Default Service plan.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Interstate Pipeline operations, constraints, interconnects, balancing rules, OBA’s, cash-out/in rates.
  • Knowledge of UGI’s pipeline capacity portfolio and entitlements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks through to completion.
  • Knowledge of UGI’s distribution system operations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Business, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience preferred
  • Natural gas, electric, commodity and or management experience preferred.
