Responsibilities


Position Summary

The Supervisor of Maintenance Planning impacts PSA Airlines' growth by overseeing that the Aircraft LINE Maintenance Planning Group are effectively and efficiently monitoring the day-to-day and short-term program task’s execution, performance, and completion. The Supervisor of Maintenance Planning, located in IOC and DAY Hangar, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Aircraft Maintenance Planner Group. In providing full compliance with maintenance requirements and planning to maximize efficiency, you will ensure quality service and flights.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administration, supervision, and leadership of assigned staff to include establishing work schedules, directing working assignments, conducting work performance appraisals, monitoring attendance, and enforcing all required policies, practices, procedures, and methods of IAW with the PSA Way.
  • Ensure that established policies and procedures are followed by the maintenance planners.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all necessary reports as required by the Aircraft Maintenance Planner Group.
  • Maintain the technical and company manuals used in the Maintenance Planning Department.
  • Identify gaps in current business processes and reengineer them for efficiency through analytical modeling along with creating new procedures to improve department and system performance.
  • Interface with CASS team to aid in Root Cause Analysis investigations related to Maintenance Planning and provide mitigation recommendations to the Maintenance Planning Manager.
  • Assists with developing metrics, goals, and continuous improvements.
  • Build and maintain decision support, scheduling research and spreadsheet models that help streamline business processes and promotes planning efficiencies to help provide better decision-making for short and long-range forecasted scheduling.
  • Work closely with MOC & Liaison Engineering personnel in tracking and scheduling fault/deferred maintenance items such as Minimal Equipment List (MELs) and Configuration Deviation List (CDLs).
  • Provides daily communication to fellow team members of critical tasks and items of importance affecting the operation.
  • Ensure all specified policies, practices and procedures are complied with.
  • Serve as a resource to the LINE Maintenance Planners on policies, procedures, and prioritization of job duties.
  • Responsible for ensuring training of new hires, recurrent training of signed off planners, and continuous improvement of the MTX Planning Training Program.
  • Assist with the process improvement of Work Instructions and other projects as assigned.
  • Perform duties of all Aircraft Maintenance Planner roles/types as required.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specifics


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Proven Experience in aircraft maintenance scheduling/planning/programs or related field
  • Working knowledge of aircraft inspections and maintenance programs
  • Experience working in Maintenance operation systems, planning management software and project management
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with Excel reporting to include VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, Complex Formulas, Advanced formatting, comparing large amounts of data and referencing several data sets
  • Successfully passed or can pass all Maintenance Planning Progression Level proficiency exams within 6 months of hire date
  • Routing knowledge and previous experience working with Dispatch and MOC
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree
  • HMV, Programs Planning, and Long-Range Planning Experience
  • Experience using Tableau, Maintenix, and COGNOS
  • 1-2 years of Six Sigma Lean experience, Yellow Belt Certification or greater
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Maintenance Planning.

Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
